Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT)
Polybutylene Terephalate, is a polyester. It is known by the trade names Velox® and Ultadur®. The Snow white natural color makes this FDA/USDA compliant material a good choice in food applications. Other properties include:
- Outstanding chemical resistance – especially to chlorine
- Low moisture resistance
- Good dimensional stabilty
- Excellent wear resistance
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)
Common trade names are Ertalyte® and Ensitep®. It has no center line porosity, very good chemical resistance, and low
moisture absorbtion. PET makes a great alternative to Nylon or Delrin in certain applications. Some other key properties are:
- Excellent hardness and stiffness.
- High flexural modulus & mechanical strength.
- Low coefficient of friction, excellent wear resistance.
- Natural white color is compliant with USDA/FDA/NSF
- Continuous service temperature of 230°
