Polypropylene

This is another member of the polyolefin family. Compared to the polyethylenes, it is stiffer. has greater surface hardness, and greater compressive strength. Like the other polyolefins, it offers great chemical and corrosion resistance. It is often welded and used for plating barrels, tanks, and hoods. It can also be thermoformed and is used extensively as a prosthetic material. Polypropylene can also be pigmented white for aesthetic applications.

Orthotic & Prosthetic Grades

The polyolefins (polypropylene, LOPE, and HDPE) are used extensively for prosthetic and orthotic applications. This is due to their light weight, low temperature formability, smooth and slippery surface. and a range of stiffness depending on the material. These polyolefins are available in their natural colors, as well as white and black.
